ADVICE FROM THE AUTHOR, pay attention to the story as you read the book. Pick up on clues as to who Karen really is. Try to step into her shoes and create a drawing that feels authentically Karen.
WHAT HAPPENS TO THE OTHER CONTESTANT’S DRAWINGS? There will be the Top 12 Drawings that weren’t chosen, but made it to the Top 12! They will be featured on the Sayre Fidei website as the Top 12 Drawings. Sayre Fidei will seek an Email agreement that you are giving permission for your drawing to be featured on the www.sayrefidei.com website, but you will retain ownership rights of your work. You will also be asked for permission to post and share your drawing on social media platforms, etc. as a part of being one of the Top 12 Drawings!
LET’S MAKE THIS GO VIRAL! If you end up entering the competition and your drawing isn’t chosen or if it was chosen into the Top 12 Drawings… use the hashtag #MeetKaren! and post your drawing of your unique and wonderful interpretation of how you think Karen would have drawn her purr furr friends for Ellen DeGeneres!
AGE, any age may enter this competition. If you are a parent or guardian and you have a little one who is still in need of assistance with drawing, you may help assist them, just please let Sayre Fidei know who all helped them with their drawing as a team effort.
WHO, any individual, living person may enter this competition. No pets, meaning no taking your pet’s paw, for example, and helping them to create a drawing. No use of AI or artificial intelligence, it has to be authentically you. Parents and guardians are allowed to assist their little ones, the elderly who need assistance and anyone with a mental or physical disability who need assistance are allowed to enter as a team with those that help them.
WHERE, from any geographical location. You can be out at sea and enter or even up in outer space! So long as you can get it submitted!
MATERIALS ALLOWED, only crayons are allowed, however you may use any size and color of paper of your choosing.
AWARD / PRIZE MONEY, there is NO award or prize money for entering this drawing competition.
ARTIST CREDIT, you and/or your team will be offered the opportunity to receive credit as the artist who drew Karen’s drawing of her purr furr friends inside of the book, Meet Karen: The Friend That Nobody Likes “BFF4L” Part I on the page of which it will be displayed on.
RIGHTS AND OWNERSHIP, you will be asked to give over all rights and ownership of your drawing to Sayre Fidei.
ORIGINAL COPY OF DRAWING, you will be asked to mail, with care, the original copy of your drawing to Sayre Fidei. Sayre Fidei will cover the mailing and shipping costs.
HOW DO YOU WIN? Sayre Fidei doesn’t have a strict rubric for contestants to follow. Instead, Sayre Fidei will be focusing on the authenticity and believability of whether or not the drawing passes as Karen’s drawing of her purr furr friends.
